Full and Part-Time Teachers

Chesterton Academy, a classical high school in the Catholic tradition, is seeking talented and dynamic teachers to join our team for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Position Details: Our goal is to hire candidates who have a love for knowledge, wisdom, Truth, Goodness, Beauty, and the pursuit thereof through specific disciplines. We aim to help our students grow in areas such as Literature, Mathematics, Latin, Philosophy, and Sciences.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Two or more years of teaching experience in a classic envrionment

  • Experience in - and passion for - Catholic classical education

  • Ability to teach subjects like Science, Mathematics, Literature, Theology, Philosophy, History, Latin, Music, Debate, and Drama

  • Familiarity with the Classics, Mortimer Adler, John Senior, G.K. Chesterton, etc.

  • Familiarity with Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Aquinas, the PreSocratics, Hobbes, Descartes, Locke, Machiavelli, MacIntyre

  • Ability or willingness to be VIRTUS trained

  • Ability or willingness to be Institute for Excellence in Writing Certified

  • Willingness to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium

  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise

Additional Responsibilities: In addition to teaching, faculty members at Chesterton Academy actively participate in the House system, which promotes character and virtue among our students. This involves attending daily Mass with the student body and assisting in leading spiritual retreats and school activities.
